Society girls from New York City circa 1890, Dacia and Lou never desired to know more about their lineage, instead preferring to gossip about the mysterious Romanian family that they barely knew. But upon turning seventeen, the girls must return to their homeland to meet their relatives, find proper husbands, and—most terrifyingly—learn the deep family secrets of The Claw, The Wing, and The Smoke. The Florescus, after all, are shape-shifters, and it is time for Dacia and Lou to fulfill the prophecy that demands their acceptance of this fate... or fight against this cruel inheritance with all their might.
With a gorgeous Romanian setting, stunning Parisian gowns, and dark brooding young men, readers will be swept up by this epic adventure of two girls in a battle for their lives.

Silver in the Blood is an interesting adventure that starts off slowly, but eventually picks up speed and left me wanting to know more.

Dacia and Lou don't know much about their Romanian family. A fact that doesn't bother them in the least bit. But once they turned seventeen the girls are forced to move to where their mother's came from. The girls know that they are to meet the mysterious family that they know nothing about and find suitable husbands. But after arriving, Dacia and Lou find out that there are a lot of family secrets, like finding out that their family members are shape-shifters. The girls are part of a prophecy and they have to figure out what they should do. Accept their fate or fight with all they have.

Overall, I enjoyed reading Silver in the Blood. I found the writing beautiful and I really liked the descriptions. I did have a little difficulty getting sucked into the story and the world. It felt like everything was moving in slow motion. I didn't fall in love with Silver in the Blood but the more I read the more interested I became. There were some surprising moments that I enjoyed. Plus the second half of the story really held my attention and left me curious about what will happen next.

I liked the letters and diary entries that Dacia and Lou wrote. I felt like it let me know the girls a bit more. It lets the reader get a more personal and intimate glance at what the girls are thinking and feeling.

My favorite thing about Silver in the Blood was the relationship between Dacia and Lou. It was easy for me to see how much the girls care about one another and how loyal they are to each other. Both girls are likable characters. They are both strong and determined in their own way. And will do whatever they can to protect the ones they love.

My Recommendation:

I didn't fall in love with Silver in the Blood and even had a hard time getting into the story. But it became more interesting the more I read and I ultimately enjoyed reading it. I am curious to find out what will happen next, so I plan to read the next one when it comes out. If you are interested in reading this one, I recommend checking it out from the library or borrowing it.
