The companion to the #1 blockbuster bestseller, The Day the Crayons Quit!
I'm not sure what it is about this kid Duncan, but his crayons sure are a colorful bunch of characters! Having soothed the hurt feelings of one group who threatened to quit, Duncan now faces a whole new group of crayons asking to be rescued. From Maroon Crayon, who was lost beneath the sofa cushions and then broken in two after Dad sat on him; to poor Turquoise, whose head is now stuck to one of Duncan's stinky socks after they both ended up in the dryer together; to Pea Green, who knows darn well that no kid likes peas and who ran away—each and every crayon has a woeful tale to tell and a plea to be brought home to the crayon box.

Drew Daywalt and Oliver Jeffers have combined to create a companion book every bit as funny and kid-friendly as the #1 bestselling The Day the Crayons Quit.

Cutie Pie is 9 years old & Cutie Pie #2 is 5 years old

Cutie Pie:
Cutie Pie #2

The girls were super excited for us to read this book because they loved the first one. Overall, this book is pretty cute. But I didn't like it as much as the first one. I can't really figure out what I didn't like as much, I just know that I didn't.
The Day the Crayons Came Home is a story about the crayons that have been forgotten and/or lost. These crayons write postcards to Duncan to let him know where they are and what happened to them.
The postcards are entertaining and some of them are funny. But they are also a bit sad. Cutie Pie #2 seemed sad by several of the postcards Which I think is why she didn't like the book as much as she did the first one. I liked the end of the story where the crayons came home and they were all together.
If you liked the first book, then you will probably enjoy reading The Day the Crayons Came Home.
